Finally we got a good start to our garden and the dang garden fence that we've put off for so long. It's made of local cedar trees from the woods that were dead and fallen down. We spent all day cutting them to size and screwing them into the posts we had dug last fall. We plan on finishing it off with trellis rope/mesh that will help the hops (planted on the corners) to trellis up and along the fence and to also keep the chickens, ducks and dogs out. All the way to the left is our garlic growing, courtesy of my Dad and his amazing garlic growing skills. He shared some of his best cloves with us for planting. Now it's off to Italy and when we come back? Garden, garden, garden. It'll be time to plant! Hope those heirloom tomato seedlings pick up their pace!!
